Another of the great figures of science and thought that have been part of the RAED and that the current Governing Board wants to thank, acknowledge and claim, in the conviction that who has no memory, has no future. The selection of these select academics, from all fields of knowledge, is the result of research carried out for the publication of the <strong>&#8220;Book of the Centenary&#8221;<\/strong> of the Royal Academy, published three years ago. Personalities that transcend their historical context to appear today as referents of knowledge.<\/p>\n<p>Doctor in Political, Economic and Commercial Sciences and sworn accountant, Pifarr\u00e9 was one of the first Accounting professors of the Spanish universities when in 1955 he got, with only 27 years, one of the first eight chairs that were convened for the then <strong>Schools of Commerce<\/strong>, germ of the faculties of Economic and Business Sciences. He was also appointed director of the <strong>Center for Economic and Social Studies of Barcelona<\/strong> and first dean of the Faculty of Political, Economic and Commercial Sciences of the University of Barcelona.<\/p>\n<p>His reference publications include <strong>&#8220;Trabajo Cient\u00edfico sobre Renovaci\u00f3n de las Leyes Contables&#8221;<\/strong> (Scientific Work on Renewal of Accounting Laws), <strong>&#8220;Art\u00edculos sobre la Naturaleza de las Leyes Contables&#8221;<\/strong> (Articles on the Nature of Accounting Laws) and <strong>&#8220;Art\u00edculo sobre la Generalizaci\u00f3n Econ\u00f3mico-Matem\u00e1tica de los Modelos de Renovaci\u00f3n&#8221;<\/strong> (Article on the Economic-Mathematical Generalization of Renewal Models). Full academician of the <a href=\"http:\/\/www.racef.es\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\"><strong>Royal Academy of Economic and Financial Sciences<\/strong><\/a>, which he chaired since 1989 and until his death, Pifarr\u00e9 was elected honorary academician of the RAED in 1967. After his disappearance, important figures of the Spanish university and company paid tribute to him with the book\u00a0 <strong>&#8220;Doctor Mario Pifarr\u00e9 Riera: La ciencia de la contabilidad&#8221;<\/strong> (Doctor Mario Pifarr\u00e9 Riera: The science of accounting), edited by the University of Barcelona under the coordination of <a href=\"https:\/\/raed.academy\/en\/academicians\/dr-alfredo-rocafort-nicolau\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\"><strong>Alfredo Rocafort<\/strong><\/a>, full academician and president of the Royal European Academy of Doctors-Barcelona 1914, who dedicates the Laudatio that opens the work. Academicians such as <a href=\"https:\/\/raed.academy\/en\/academicians\/dr-oriol-amat-salas\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\"><strong>Oriol Amat<\/strong><\/a>, <a href=\"https:\/\/raed.academy\/en\/academicians\/dr-montserrat-casanovas-ramon\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\"><strong>Montserrat Casanovas<\/strong><\/a>, <a href=\"https:\/\/raed.academy\/en\/academicians\/dr-isidre-faine-casas\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\"><strong>Isidro Fain\u00e9<\/strong><\/a>, <a href=\"https:\/\/raed.academy\/en\/academicians\/dr-lorenzo-gascon-fernandez\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\"><strong>Lorenzo Gasc\u00f3n<\/strong><\/a>, <a href=\"https:\/\/raed.academy\/en\/academicians\/dr-enrique-lecumberri-marti\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\"><strong>Enrique Lecumberri<\/strong><\/a>, <a href=\"https:\/\/raed.academy\/en\/academicians\/dr-carlos-mallo-rodriguez\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\"><strong>Carlos Mallo<\/strong><\/a>, <a href=\"https:\/\/raed.academy\/en\/academicians\/dr-josep-joan-pinto-ruiz\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\"><strong>Jos\u00e9 Juan Pint\u00f3<\/strong><\/a> and the deceased <strong>Juan Antonio Samaranch<\/strong> also participated in the book.<\/p>\n<h3><a href=\"http:\/\/www.publicacions.ub.edu\/hojear.aspx?fichero=06392.pdf\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Fragment of \u00abLa ciencia de la contabilidad\u00bb tribute to Mario Pifarr\u00e9<\/a><\/h3>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>The Royal European Academy of Doctors-Barcelona 1914 (RAED) presents the 12th installment of the series dedicated to the most notable academicians of its centenary history, this time to another of his illustrious characters: the remembered professor of Accounting at the University of Barcelona Mario Pifarr\u00e9 (1929-2002).
