The session, which was held in Barcelona, \u200b\u200bwas attended by experts as <strong>Francesc Abella<\/strong>, director of the <strong>Addictions Unit<\/strong> of the <a href=\"http:\/\/www.gss.cat\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\"><strong>Saint Mary&#8217;s Hospital<\/strong><\/a> in Lleida; <strong>Esteve Fern\u00e1ndez<\/strong>, director of the <strong>Smoking Control Unit<\/strong> of the <a href=\"http:\/\/ico.gencat.cat\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\"><strong>Catalan Institute of Oncology<\/strong><\/a>; <strong>Esteve Salt\u00f3<\/strong>, head of health programs of the <strong><a href=\"http:\/\/salutweb.gencat.cat\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Ministry of<\/a> <a href=\"http:\/\/salutweb.gencat.cat\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Health<\/a><\/strong> of the <a href=\"http:\/\/www.gencat.cat\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\"><strong>Catalan Government<\/strong><\/a> and the full academician <a href=\"https:\/\/raed.academy\/en\/academicians\/dr-jose-ramon-calvo-fernandez\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\"><strong>Jos\u00e9 Ram\u00f3n Calvo<\/strong><\/a>, president of the <strong>Institute of International Cooperation<\/strong> of the RAED, in addition to Giner himself.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;All the speakers agree that, in Spain, an important path has been taken in raising public awareness of the harmful effects of tobacco, since in the last decade there had been a decrease in the number of smokers, partly also thanks to the <strong>Tobacco law<\/strong> of 2005 and its hardening in 2010. And he says that the dentist is in a unique position to fight against smoking, since he sees patients from a young age and on many occasions for many years.<\/p>\n<p>Doctor of Medicine and Surgery, Giner entered as full academician of the RAED during a ceremony that was held on April 3 with the admission speech <strong>&#8220;Los dientes: del comer al lucir.
