More than 600 professionals, managers, academicians and students participated in the 8th Congress of the Catalan Association of Accounting and Management<\/strong><\/a> (ACCID), which was held on June 6 and 7 at the IQS School of Management<\/strong><\/a> headquarters in Barcelona, \u200b\u200ba center associated with the Ramon Llull University<\/strong><\/a>. The sessions were held under the generic title “Nuevos tiempos, nuevas oportunidades”<\/strong> (New times, new opportunities) and had the participation, among other recognized experts, of Oriol Amat<\/strong><\/a>, former president and founder of this institution, full academician and member of the Government Board of the Royal European Academy of Doctors-Barcelona 1914<\/strong> (RAED); Jordi Mart\u00ed<\/strong><\/a>, also full academician and member of the Governing Board, and Pedro Aznar<\/strong><\/a>, another of the outstanding members of the Royal Academy.<\/p>\n The event hosted the delivery of the prizes and research grants of the ACCID. This year they recognized, among others, Joan B. Casas<\/strong>, former president of the Association of Economists of Catalonia<\/strong><\/a> and regular collaborator of the RAED, and the professor of Financial Economics and Accounting at the University of Barcelona<\/strong><\/a>, \u200b\u200brenowned disseminator and full academician of the RAED Jos\u00e9 Mar\u00eda Gay de Li\u00e9bana<\/strong><\/a>. Alfredo Rocafort<\/strong><\/a>, vicepresident of ACCID, full academician and president of the Governing Board of the Royal Academy, and Emili Gironella<\/strong><\/a>, also full academician of the RAED, were part of the jury.<\/p>\n Enrique Rubio<\/strong>, of the Institute of Accounting and Audit of Accounts<\/strong><\/a> of the Spanish Ministry of Economy and Finance<\/strong><\/a>, and Santiago Ni\u00f1o Becerra<\/strong>, professor of IQS School of Management, were responsible for imparting the two conferences of opening of the congress. The first highlighted in his paper the task of standardization and accounting regulation made by the institution he represents with the aim of having useful and quality accounting information and advanced to the attendees the news on which this entity currently works and will soon approve on the modification of the General Accounting Plan<\/strong> in the sections on financial instruments and the recognition of income. For his part, the IQS professor focused his intervention on his vision of what he calls “the third phase of the crash”, insisting on the problems of countries’ debt, structural unemployment, underemployment, the effects of massive application of artificial intelligence and robotization and the need to start the basic income definitively.<\/p>\n During the two days of the congress more than 90 speakers participated in conferences, workshops and simultaneous work sessions on current issues and interest for professionals and academicians of accounting and business management. Among them were Daniel Faura<\/strong>, president of ACCID; Francesc G\u00f3mez<\/strong>, president of the Association of Accountancy and Control Professors<\/strong> of ACCID; Quim Ferrer<\/strong>, secretary of Enterprise and Competitiveness of the Catalan Government<\/strong><\/a>; Pere Regull<\/strong>, general director of IQS School of Management; Anton Gasol<\/strong>, president of the Association of Economists of Catalonia; Antoni G\u00f3mez<\/strong>, president of the Board of Chartered Accountants of Catalonia<\/strong><\/a>; Aurora Corral<\/strong>, president of the Council of Associations of Secretaries, Auditors and Treasurers of the Local Administration of Catalonia<\/strong>; or Alfonso Lluzar<\/strong>, president of the Association of Administrative Managers of Catalonia<\/strong><\/a>, among others.<\/p>\n The Congress also had the active participation of the association headed by Francesc G\u00f3mez, made up of more than 160 teachers.
