Josep Maria Sans Trav\u00e9<\/strong><\/a>, former director of the National Archive of Catalonia<\/strong> and full academician of the Royal European Academy of Doctors-Barcelona 1914<\/strong> (RAED), and Ferran Guedea<\/strong><\/a>, director of Radiation Oncology of the Catalan Institute of Oncology<\/strong> and also full academician of the RAED , presided last November 29 the presentation of the new “Dictionnaire th\u00e9matique fran\u00e7ais-catalan”<\/strong>\u00a0(French-Catalan thematic dictionary), a work of the renowned French radiologist Michael Cavaill\u00e9<\/strong>, also present at an event that was held at the headquarters of the Royal Academy of Good Arts of Barcelona<\/strong><\/a>, \u200b\u200bin historical Requesens Palace of the Catalan capital.<\/p>\n

Directed to a francophone audience, the work is designed to facilitate the learning of the Catalan language with more than 27,000 entries divided into 41 chapters related to everyday life such as health, nature, time, the ages of life, religion, love and sexuality, home, the city, food, clothing, education, social life, free time, tourism, sports, art or the world of work, among other areas of daily life. “It’s the first dictionary of this type that groups words by interests and that part of the need that I have found over the years in my personal and work life”, said the author.<\/p>\n

After the presentation of Cavaill\u00e9, Catherine Blanc<\/strong> moderated a nimble debate attended by\u00a0Neus Lozano<\/strong>, director of Management and Attention to Diversity of the Department of Education<\/strong> of the Catalan Government<\/strong><\/a>; Carmen Rider<\/strong>, psycho-pedagogue and member of the Catalan Society of Pedagogy<\/strong><\/a>, integrated in the Institute of Catalan Studies<\/strong><\/a>, and Xavier Blanco<\/strong>, professor of French Philology at the Autonomous University of Barcelona<\/strong><\/a>.<\/p>\n
