{"id":44537,"date":"2018-04-09T09:41:34","date_gmt":"2018-04-09T09:41:34","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/raed.academy\/?p=44537"},"modified":"2018-04-12T11:07:04","modified_gmt":"2018-04-12T11:07:04","slug":"days-that-shook-catalonia","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/raed.academy\/en\/days-that-shook-catalonia\/","title":{"rendered":"The days that shook Catalonia"},"content":{"rendered":"<h2>&#8220;We were facing a real constitutional coup d&#8217;\u00e9tat and the Spanish Government didn&#8217;t know, couldn&#8217;t or didn&#8217;t want to react&#8221;<\/h2>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/raed.academy\/en\/academicians\/dr-teresa-freixes-sanjuan\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><strong>Teresa Freixes<\/strong><\/a>, professor of Constitutional Law at the <a href=\"http:\/\/www.uab.edu\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><strong>Autonomous University of Barcelona<\/strong><\/a>, \u200b\u200bfounder and president of the <a href=\"http:\/\/es-es.facebook.com\/concordiacivica\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><strong>Concordia Civic<\/strong><\/a> platform and full academician of the <strong>Royal European Academy of Doctors-Barcelona 1914<\/strong> (RAED), presented on April 5 her latest book , <strong>&#8220;155. Los d\u00edas que estremecieron a Catalu\u00f1a&#8221;<\/strong> (155. The days that shook Catalonia), where she describes the path that led to the application in Catalonia of article 155 of the Spanish Constitution, the intervention of its government institutions, the dissolution of the Catalan parliament and the convening and holding of new elections. All this, paradoxically, in a period of approximately 155 days. The presentation was attended by the Spanish former minister and former president of the European Parliament <strong>Josep Borrell<\/strong> and the journalist <strong>Almudena Negro<\/strong>, who acted as moderator.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;After giving it a thousand laps I thought I had to do it, basically for two reasons, one for Catalonia to have an analysis that was not day-to-day, which is becoming so tiresome for us.
