IV International Act-European Congress of Interdisciplinary Research<\/h2>\n

Pontifical Academy of Sciences<\/p><\/div>\n

The Royal European Academy of Doctors-Barcelona 1914<\/strong> (RAED) held, between the 11 and 18 July 2018, its IV International Act-European Congress of Interdisciplinary Research<\/strong> in various Mediterranean capitals, after doing so last year in the most prominent cities of the Baltic. The sessions are open to the general public, which can coexist with the speakers, including several Nobel laureates, on the cruise that will take the delegation to its different destinations.<\/p>\n

The first of these will be the Vatican City, where the RAED will hold an academic event at the facilities of the Pontifical Academy of Sciences<\/strong>, whose fundamental theme will be to address aspects related to the environment, taking the encyclical as a fundamental axis of discussion of Pope Francis “Laudato Si”<\/strong>. To this end, a session will be organised in which academicians from both institutions will talk about important aspects of it and its repercussions on the life of the planet. The organisation will end with a private audience of the participants with His Holiness.<\/p>\n

Oceanographic Museum of Monaco<\/p><\/div>\n

The second stage will be the Oceanographic Museum of Monaco<\/strong><\/a>, which had Commander Jacques Cousteau<\/strong> as its director. The facilities were inaugurated in 1910 by Prince Albert I<\/strong>. The museum was built on a steep cliff at a height of 85 meters. It holds an important collection of species of marine fauna and a great variety of objects related to the sea.<\/p>\n

It also has a huge aquarium with a spectacular set of flora and fauna in which there are 4.000 species of fish and about 200 families of invertebrates. It’s also characterised by a very successful re-creation of the Mediterranean and tropical marine ecosystems. All this makes it receive about one million visitors each year. At this stage, the RAED will hold a series of scientific conferences related to sustainability, the environment and climate change.<\/p>\n

The last part of this congress will be held on Majorca, where the delegation will visit the Cartuja of Valldemosa, a place of great relevance for the history of music since the composer Frederic Chopin<\/strong> lived there for a while with the writer George Sand<\/strong>. Participants will be given a guided tour of its facilities, a scientific session will be held in which the historical and musical connotations of the charterhouse in the life of Chopin will be discussed and then the renowned pianist Iv\u00e1n Mart\u00edn<\/strong> will offer a concert in which he will present the work of the great Polish composer.<\/p>\n
