Rosal\u00eda Arteaga Serrano<\/p><\/div>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/raed.academy\/en\/academicians\/rosalia-arteaga-eng\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><strong>Rosal\u00eda Arteaga<\/strong><\/a>, former president of Ecuador and honorary academician of the <strong>Royal European Academy of Doctors-Barcelona 1914<\/strong> (RAED), received, on 24 November, an honorary doctorate in Business Administration from the <a href=\"http:\/\/iau.la\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><strong>International American University<\/strong><\/a>, which recognised the intense work of the academician in the diffusion and improvement of education throughout the American continent. The solemn reception was held at one of the institution&#8217;s campuses in California.<\/p>\n<p>Distinguished with numerous awards and recognitions, Arteaga adds this Honoris Causa to her doctorate in Jurisprudence and Anthropology. Arteaga was secretary general of the <a href=\"http:\/\/www.otca-oficial.info\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><strong>Amazon Cooperation Treaty Organization<\/strong><\/a> and vice minister of Culture and Minister of Education of Ecuador. She worked until 2007 as a member of the Editorial Board of the <a href=\"http:\/\/www.britannica.com\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><strong>Encyclopedia Britannica<\/strong><\/a> and was director of the <a href=\"http:\/\/www.natura.org.co\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><strong>Regional Nature Foundation<\/strong><\/a>. Between 2007 and 2012 she was a member of the Board of Directors of the <a href=\"http:\/\/www.catie.ac.cr\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><strong>Tropical Agronomic Center for Research and Teaching<\/strong><\/a> of Costa Rica.
