The work is born under the protection of an international editorial board in which seven academicians from the <strong>Royal European Academy of Doctors-Barcelona 1914<\/strong> (RAED) participate. These are <a href=\"http:\/\/raed.academy\/en\/academicians\/dr-angel-aguirre-baztan\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><strong>\u00c1ngel Aguirre<\/strong><\/a>, <a href=\"http:\/\/raed.academy\/en\/academicians\/dr-xabier-anoveros-trias-de-bes\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><strong>Xabier A\u00f1overos<\/strong><\/a>, <a href=\"http:\/\/raed.academy\/en\/academicians\/dr-joaquim-gironella-coll\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><strong>Joaquim Gironella<\/strong><\/a>, <a href=\"http:\/\/raed.academy\/en\/academicians\/ernesto-kahan-eng\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><strong>Ernesto Kahan<\/strong><\/a>, <a href=\"http:\/\/raed.academy\/en\/academicians\/dr-joan-francesc-pont-clemente\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><strong>Joan Francesc Pont<\/strong><\/a>, <a href=\"http:\/\/raed.academy\/en\/academicians\/dr-alfredo-rocafort-nicolau\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><strong>Alfredo Rocafort<\/strong><\/a> and <a href=\"http:\/\/raed.academy\/en\/academicians\/dr-francisco-lopez-munoz\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><strong>Francisco L\u00f3pez Mu\u00f1oz<\/strong><\/a>, who occupies the management of this advisory body that brings together 68 researchers and European professionals -44 of them members of Spanish Royal Academies- and Americans of recognized prestige in the field of medical humanities and related disciplines of 25 countries.<\/p>\n<p>According to its own editors, this &#8220;Bioethics Handbook&#8221; deals with the growing public interest in anthropology, &#8220;to really know who the man is, what constitutes him, where his value and dignity come from. This book of bioethics is based on the principle of a personalist ethic that proposes to the human person and its ontological, irreducible value as the centre and end of human action. This is how the medical, technological and research activity can and should seek the full realization of each human being, for what this is, beyond their intellectual or social qualities\u201d.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Enrique de Mestral<\/strong>, a prestigious Paraguayan bioethicist specializing in geriatrics and palliative care, and <strong>M\u00edriam Riveros<\/strong>, specialist in family medicine, geriatrics, palliative care and bioethics and president of the <a href=\"http:\/\/www.cuidadospaliativospy.org\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><strong>Paraguayan Association of Palliative Medicine and Care<\/strong><\/a>, coordinate the work. Both are professors at the <a href=\"http:\/\/www.una.py\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><strong>National University of Asunci\u00f3n<\/strong><\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>So far, three volumes of this collection have been published: <strong>&#8220;Cuando la medicina no cura. La participaci\u00f3n del personal sanitario en torturas, genocidios y experimentos al margen de los c\u00f3digos \u00e9ticos&#8221;<\/strong> (When medicine doesn\u2019t cure, the participation of health personnel in torture, genocide and experiments outside the ethical codes), coordinated by <strong>Ester Cuerda<\/strong> and <a href=\"http:\/\/raed.academy\/en\/academicians\/dr-francisco-lopez-munoz\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><strong>Francisco L\u00f3pez Mu\u00f1oz<\/strong><\/a>; <strong>&#8220;El vuelo de Clavile\u00f1o. Brujas, locos, p\u00f3cimas, f\u00e1rmacos, m\u00e9dicos e inquisidores a trav\u00e9s de la literatura cervantina&#8221;<\/strong> (The flight of Clavile\u00f1o, witches, madmen, potions, drugs, doctors and inquisitors through Cervantes literature), written by\u00a0\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/raed.academy\/en\/academicians\/dr-francisco-lopez-munoz\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><strong>Francisco L\u00f3pez Mu\u00f1oz<\/strong><\/a> and Francisco P\u00e9rez Fern\u00e1ndez, and this <strong>&#8220;Manual de bio\u00e9tica&#8221;<\/strong> (Bioethics Manual).
