Dr. Luis Pons<\/p><\/div>\n

Luis Pons<\/u><\/strong><\/em><\/a>, corresponding member of the Royal European Academy of Doctors<\/strong> (READ), shares with the academic community the photo galleries \u201cThe Visual Delight of Blossom Time in Aitona\u201d<\/strong> and \u201cThe Flamingos of the Ebro Delta,\u201d<\/strong> published respectively on 13 and 21 March in the \u201cReaders\u2019 Photos\u201d<\/strong> section of the digital edition of \u201cLa Vanguardia.\u201d<\/strong> In the first of them, the prolific photographer selects an image that sums up the spectacle of fruit trees in blossom at the beginning of spring. \u201cThe fields of fruit trees in the sunshine stretch out in all their order and colours, a true attraction of the Segri\u00e0,\u201d Pons himself explains. In the second, he shows the life of wild fauna in the heart of nature. \u201cI took this series of images in the former salt flats of La Tancada, near Trabucador beach. The younger specimens have grey plumage until they become adults, depending on their diet. It is usual for them to feed in the rice fields,\u201d he notes.<\/p>\n

The academic is one of the regular photographers in this section, where he has published various photographic series on diverse subjects that have been very well received by the newspaper\u2019s readers. Luis Pons discovered photography in the 1980s, driven both by his interest in the chemical process involved in developing negatives in paper photography and by his closeness to the photography sections of the newspapers \u201cEl Pa\u00eds\u201d<\/strong> and \u201cAvui,\u201d<\/strong> where he worked as an executive, as he has explained to the academics who have followed his work closely over recent years. From there, he made the leap to digital photography.<\/p>\n
