Frigdiano \u00c1lvaro Dur\u00e1ntez<\/p><\/div>\n

Frigdiano \u00c1lvaro Dur\u00e1ntez<\/strong>, Director of the Chair of Ibero-American and Iberophone Studies<\/strong> of the Ibero-American University Foundation<\/strong> and a close collaborator of the Royal European Academy of Doctors<\/strong> (READ), took part on 26 March in a new edition of the programme \u201cEnlace Iberoamericano\u201d<\/strong> on Prensa Mercosur<\/strong>, in which he analysed, together with Gustavo Bueno<\/strong>, President of the Gustavo Bueno S\u00e1nchez Foundation<\/strong>, the new international order that is emerging in the wake of the latest geopolitical tensions. The session was entitled \u201cDialectic of Empires: Academic Rigour and University Specialisation\u201d<\/strong> and was based on the ideas addressed during those same days at the Oviedo Philosophy Meetings<\/strong>, organised by the Gustavo Bueno Foundation itself, where the continuing relevance of imperial structures in the face of state fragmentation was examined.<\/p>\n

The speakers considered that, in a new era in which the United States and China are competing, and Russia is asserting its place, Iberophony<\/strong>, a linguistic and cultural bloc of 900 million people across 30 countries, is emerging as a plurinational platform capable of a global response.<\/p>\n

Along these same lines, the Ibero-American University Foundation<\/strong> had already announced the launch of pioneering degree programmes to train the intellectual and diplomatic elite of a pan-Iberian space.<\/p>\n

\"\"The first of these is the Master\u2019s Degree in the History, Geopolitics and Globalisation of Ibero-America and Iberophony<\/strong>. A 90-credit programme that seeks to train experts in the pan-Iberian sphere. In addition, the Ibero-American University Foundation proposes a university specialisation in \u201cHistory of the Hispanic World\u201d<\/strong>, focused on providing a solid historical grounding.<\/p>\n

\u201cToday\u2019s nation-states can no longer be understood in isolation; their survival depends on their ability to integrate into larger platforms. Iberophony is not only a historical past and a cultural legacy, but also a geopolitical structure for the future,\u201d<\/strong> Dur\u00e1ntez and Bueno S\u00e1nchez agreed during the broadcast. This is an idea that the Foundation\u2019s own Chair had already defended last February \u05d1\u05de\u05e1\u05d2\u05e8\u05ea<\/span> the Foro Horizonte Ib\u00e9rico<\/strong>, held in the auditorium of the law firm Cremades & Calvo-Sotelo Abogados<\/strong>, led by Javier Cremades<\/u><\/strong><\/em><\/a>, President of the World Jurist Association<\/strong> and full member of the READ, with the participation of former Spanish Minister of Foreign Affairs Jos\u00e9 Manuel Garc\u00eda-Margallo<\/strong>.<\/p>\n
