The Royal European Academy of Doctors-Barcelona 1914 (RAED) will carry out a Scientific Expedition to the Galapagos Islands together with National Geographic<\/strong><\/a>, the Fundaci\u00f3n para el Desarrollo de Am\u00e9rica Latina<\/strong><\/a>, the Fundaci\u00f3n Quo-Artis<\/strong><\/a> and the University of San Francisco de Quito<\/strong><\/a>.<\/p>\n

The trip will take place aboard the Lindblad Expeditions<\/strong> ship \u201cNational Geographic Endeavor II\u201d<\/strong> between August 27 and September 3 and will bring together academicians, family members and renowned personalities in the field of science on the same mission and the arts. It is a unique and unrepeatable high-level scientific event, which aims to generate a series of audiovisual documents, a manifesto and a book that will allow international dissemination of the need to decisively protect this rich and fragile ecosystem with great media impact against to the attacks it is suffering.<\/p>\n

Fishing fleets, accumulation of plastic on its coasts, which seriously damages its fauna, and the effects of climate change, which are very noticeable in an environment as sensitive to change as that of the islands.<\/p>\n
