Teresa Anguera Argilaga, originally from Darm\u00f3s (Tarragona), is a professor in the Department of Behavioral Science Methodology at the Faculty of Psychology at the University of Barcelona. She holds a Licentiate in Psychology with Honors (1972) and a degree in Law (1997) from the University of Barcelona, and a Ph.D. in Psychology (1976) from the same university. From 1972 to 1985, she progressively held various professional roles at the University of Barcelona, including Assistant Professor, Course Coordinator, Associate Professor, and Full Professor, always in full-time positions.<\/p>\n Since 1972, she has taught at all levels, covering various methodological subjects. In postgraduate studies, she served as co-coordinator and\/or co-supervisor of doctoral programs from 1987 to 2008. Additionally, she has taught doctoral courses at the Universities of Almeria, Autonomous University of Barcelona, Balearic Islands, Barcelona, Coru\u00f1a, Ja\u00e9n, La Laguna, La Rioja, Las Palmas, Lleida, Oviedo, Basque Country, Rovira i Virgili (Tarragona), Salamanca, Seville, Valladolid, and Zaragoza. She has also taught Master’s and Postgraduate courses in several universities in Spain and Portugal, and has conducted research stays in Chile, Colombia, the United States, Mexico, and Portugal.<\/p>\n Her research has always focused on two main areas: Observational Methodology and Program Evaluation Designs. She has participated in 28 competitive research projects funded by government bodies (mainly the Ministry of Science and Technology, Ministry of Education, Culture and Sports, Ministry of Economy and Competitiveness, and the Government of Catalonia) or commissioned by various official institutions, serving as the principal investigator in most. She has coordinated joint projects with Austria and Germany. In 1994, she founded the Observational Designs research group (later known as the Research and Innovation in Designs Group, GRID), which focuses on technology and multimedia application in observational designs. She has coordinated it since its inception, and it has been recognized as a Consolidated Research Group by the Government of Catalonia. Nationally and internationally, she has been a member of research evaluation committees, scientific and organizing committees for congresses, editorial committees of journals, and various scientific societies, in which she has also held governance roles. She has received positive evaluations for seven six-year research periods.<\/p>\n She has published extensively in Spain and abroad. Aside from other minor works, she is the author\/co-author of 31 books, 139 book chapters, and 367 articles. She has participated in numerous national and international conferences, delivering 73 invited presentations and presenting 498 communications. She has supervised or co-supervised 70 doctoral theses, with one currently under review and five in progress.<\/p>\n In 1999, she joined the Royal Academy of Doctors as a full academic member, in 2013, she became a corresponding member of the Royal Academy of Medicine of Catalonia, and in 2015, she joined the Spanish Academy of Psychology as a full academic member. She served as Chair of the Ethics Committee of the College of Psychologists of Catalonia (2006-2010), President of the Spanish Association of Behavioral Science Methodology (AEMCCO) (2007-2011), and Vice-Secretary of the European Association of Methodology (EAM) (2008-2012).<\/p>\n She holds honorary doctorates from the University of La Laguna (April 29, 2022), the University of Las Palmas de Gran Canaria (March 5, 2024), the Pontifical University of Salamanca (October 18, 2024), and the University of Lleida (November 13, 2024).<\/p>\n Regarding administrative roles, she has served as Secretary of the Faculty of Psychology (1982-1985), Head of Psychology Studies (1986-1988), Director of the Department of Behavioral Science Methodology (1993-1997), head of the Research Section at the ICE (Institute of Educational Sciences) at the University of Barcelona (1998-2002), Vice-Rector of Scientific Policy at the University of Barcelona (November 2008 to January 2010), and Vice-Rector of Teaching and Scientific Policy at the University of Barcelona (from January 2010 to December 2012).
