Mr Antoni Garrell Guiu<\/h3>\n
Antoni Garrell i Guiu is an industrial engineer from the Polytechnic University of Catalonia (UPC), specialising in innovation and the knowledge economy, with a Master\u2019s degree in Management and Administration and doctoral studies in Decision Support Systems.<\/p>\n
He has developed a broad professional career in both computational technology and organisational and strategic management, holding various positions in companies such as Arthur Andersen, La Caixa, the La Salle University and Technology Foundation, and the FUNDIT Foundation, serving as general director of the latter two.<\/p>\n
Since 2021 he has been President of HM Hospitals of Catalonia.<\/p>\n
He has also been part of several corporate boards and advisory councils, and has held institutional roles including: President of the Cercle per al Coneixement, Trustee of the Ramon Llull University Foundation (where he chaired its executive council), the Foundation for Industry, the Royal Monastery of Poblet Foundation, the CIREM Foundation, the Liberty and Democracy Foundation, the Indicis Foundation, and member of the board of the Open University of Catalonia (UOC). He is currently a trustee of the Eurecat Foundation, the Populus Alba Foundation, the Cercle per al Coneixement Foundation and the Puente Xina Foundation, chairs the association El pa\u00eds de dem\u00e0, and is a member of the Social Council of the Autonomous University of Barcelona (UAB), appointed by the Parliament of Catalonia.<\/p>\n
In the academic field, he has taught and lectured at various national and international universities, receiving several recognitions, including the National Knowledge Society Award from UNIACC in Chile. As a disseminator, he is the author of more than 850 articles on technical, economic and opinion topics. He founded the technological journal INPUT, directed the \u201cPapers per a Debat\u201d collection and promoted the \u201cCon\u00e8ixer la Ind\u00fastria\u201d series. He is the author or co-author of nine books on digital technology, multimedia and industry. His two most recent books are: \u201cIndustry 4.0 in the Digital Society\u201d (2019) and \u201cIntelligent and Sustainable Products and Services\u201d (2021).
