width=&#8221;87%&#8221;][et_pb_tab title=&#8221;CV&#8221; _builder_version=&#8221;4.27.4&#8243; body_font=&#8221;||||&#8221; tab_font=&#8221;||||&#8221; global_colors_info=&#8221;{}&#8221;]<\/p>\n<h2>Dr. JOS\u00c9 ANTONIO L\u00d3PEZ GUERRERO<\/h2>\n<ul>\n<li>Born in <a href=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Madrid\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><strong>Madrid<\/strong><\/a> in 1962.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h3><strong>ACADEMIC QUALIFICATIONS<\/strong><\/h3>\n<ul>\n<li>Bachelor\u2019s Degree in Biology from the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.uam.es\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><strong>Autonomous University of Madrid (UAM)<\/strong><\/a>.<\/li>\n<li>PhD in Biology with Extraordinary Award (1989) from the Department of Biochemistry and Molecular Biology at UAM.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h3><strong>RESEARCH AND TEACHING ACTIVITY<\/strong><\/h3>\n<ul>\n<li>Postdoctoral fellow at the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.cib.csic.es\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><strong>Centre for Biological Research (CSIC)<\/strong><\/a> (1990\u20131993), focused on rat models of rheumatoid arthritis.<\/li>\n<li>Researcher at the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.dkfz.de\/en\/index.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><strong>German Cancer Research Center (DKFZ)<\/strong><\/a> in Heidelberg (1993\u20131996), studying molecular aspects of parvovirus infection.<\/li>\n<li>Professor and researcher at the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.uam.es\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><strong>Autonomous University of Madrid<\/strong><\/a>, where he continues his teaching and research in virology.<\/li>\n<li>Director of the NeuroVirology Group at UAM and the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.cbm.uam.es\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><strong>Severo Ochoa Molecular Biology Center (CBMSO)<\/strong><\/a>.<\/li>\n<li>His research focuses on the neuropathology associated with herpes simplex virus type 1 and on the antiviral potential of natural and newly synthesized compounds against various viruses, including SARS-CoV-2.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h3><strong>PUBLICATIONS<\/strong><\/h3>\n<ul>\n<li>Regular contributor to Radio Nacional de Espa\u00f1a (Radio 1, Radio 5, Radio Exterior), as well as to TV (TVE, La Sexta, Cuatro) and print media such as <em>El Cultural<\/em>.<\/li>\n<li>Author and\/or editor of 15 books and over 300 scientific and popular science articles.<\/li>\n<li>Has organized and participated in science outreach programs in Germany, Sweden, Mexico, Argentina, Chile and Morocco.<\/li>\n<li>Invited in 2021 as the European representative of virology at the Global FunGlode Forum (Dominican Republic).<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>[\/et_pb_tab][et_pb_tab title=&#8221;VIDEO&#8221;
