Es Catedr\u00e1tico de Ginecolog\u00eda y Obstetricia y director del Departamento de Cirug\u00eda y Especialidades M\u00e9dico quir\u00fargicas. Es el responsable de la Endocrinolog\u00eda Ginecol\u00f3gica y del Grupo de Trabajo de Sexolog\u00eda Cl\u00ednica, as\u00ed como coordinador de docencia del <strong>Hospital Cl\u00ednic de Barcelona<\/strong>. Se gradu\u00f3 en la Facultad de Medicina de la Universidad de Barcelona, licenci\u00e1ndose en 1985 y obteniendo menci\u00f3n del premio Extraordinario de Licenciatura. Posteriormente, se doctor\u00f3 en 1999, obteniendo el premio extraordinario de doctorado. Realiz\u00f3 su formaci\u00f3n como obstetra y ginec\u00f3logo en el Hospital Cl\u00ednic, donde entr\u00f3 como m\u00e9dico residente hasta llegar a alcanzar la m\u00e1xima categor\u00eda de la promoci\u00f3n profesional.<\/p><p>En 1988, todav\u00eda como residente, fund\u00f3 la primera unidad de menopausia en un hospital p\u00fablico catal\u00e1n y la segunda de todo el estado espa\u00f1ol y desde entonces esta instituci\u00f3n se ha convertido en uno de los centros de referencia para la menopausia y la endocrinolog\u00eda ginecol\u00f3gica. La unidad fue ampliando su actividad, siendo pionera en t\u00e9cnicas quir\u00fargicas de reconstrucci\u00f3n de anomal\u00edas m\u00fcllerianas, siendo actualmente un centro de referencia en el que se derivan pacientes de todo el estado para resolver anomal\u00edas del desarrollo complejas. Fue tambi\u00e9n seguir la estela en la incorporaci\u00f3n de la cirug\u00eda m\u00ednimamente invasiva a la Cirug\u00eda ginecol\u00f3gica, formando parte del abordaje habitual de muchos pacientes actualmente.<\/p><p>Su actividad tambi\u00e9n tiene que ver con la sexolog\u00eda cl\u00ednica, siendo el director del <strong>m\u00e1ster de Sexolog\u00eda Cl\u00ednica<\/strong> desde 2016 y habiendo creado un postgrado para no m\u00e9dicos en Sexolog\u00eda y Educaci\u00f3n Sexual ese mismo a\u00f1o.<\/p><p>Ha escrito m\u00e1s de <strong>450 art\u00edculos originales<\/strong> y revisiones en revistas nacionales e internacionales indexadas (70% a revistas del primer y segundo cuartil, Factor de Impacto>575, \u00edndice h: 42), la mayor\u00eda en el campo de la endocrinolog\u00eda ginecol\u00f3gica y la sexolog\u00eda cl\u00ednica. Ha sido profesor invitado y ha dado conferencias nacionales e internacionales, habiendo sido llamado <strong>Profesor libre de la Universidad de Buenos Aires<\/strong>.
