Are we really made of quarks?&#8221;<\/strong>, on es va preguntar si la part m\u00e9s petita de la mat\u00e8ria, el quark, no pot albergar encara elements m\u00e9s petits.<\/p>\n<p>Friedman va explicar com els \u00faltims descobriments del <a href=\"https:\/\/home.cern\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><strong>Centre Europeu per a la Investigaci\u00f3 Nuclear<\/strong> <\/a>(CERN) confirmen l&#8217;exist\u00e8ncia real dels quarks i que el que la f\u00edsica encara no ha descobert probablement \u00e9s m\u00e9s del que sabem avui dia. Tot i aix\u00ed, va assenyalar, la tecnologia actual no ens permet anar m\u00e9s enll\u00e0. En aquest sentit, l&#8217;acad\u00e8mic recorda que fins entrada la d\u00e8cada dels 80 del segle passat la comunitat cient\u00edfica tampoc reconeixia l&#8217;exist\u00e8ncia d&#8217;aquests fermions. &#8220;Es deia que funcionaven en una representaci\u00f3 te\u00f2rica, per\u00f2 que no eren reals, i que en qualsevol cas eren estructures difuses, per\u00f2 no part\u00edcules elementals&#8221;, va assegurar.<\/p>\n<p>Ara, va prosseguir Friedman amb la seva argumentaci\u00f3, \u00e9s tan habitual dir que l&#8217;\u00e0tom de carboni es compon de 6 electrons, 6 protons i 6 neutrons com que consta de 6 electrons i 36 quarks. &#8220;Els primers estudis que realitzem a l&#8217;accelerador lineal de la <a href=\"http:\/\/stanford.edu\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><strong>Universitat de Stanford<\/strong><\/a> i al <a href=\"http:\/\/web.mit.edu\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><strong>Centre de Tecnologia de Massachusetts<\/strong><\/a> (MIT) entre 1967 i 1974 ens van permetre afirmar que els quarks tenien una estructura pr\u00f2pia i una din\u00e0mica pr\u00f2pia. I a poc a poc els te\u00f2rics van abandonar les anteriors teories sobre la mat\u00e8ria&#8221;, va indicar el f\u00edsic, que al seu discurs va abordar tota la traject\u00f2ria de la investigaci\u00f3 de la f\u00edsica nuclear i qu\u00e0ntica fins arribar al moment actual, en qu\u00e8 la teoria de les Supercordes suggereix que els constituents fonamentals de la realitat s\u00f3n cordes d&#8217;una longitud de Planck.<\/p>\n<p>Al cicle de CosmoCaixa ja han participat altres tres guardonats amb el Nobel i acad\u00e8mics d&#8217;honor de la RAED: <a href=\"http:\/\/raed.academy\/ca\/academics\/dr-aaron-ciechanover\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><strong>Aaron Ciechanover<\/strong><\/a> i <a href=\"http:\/\/raed.academy\/ca\/dra-ada-yonath\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><strong>Ada Yonath<\/strong><\/a>, premis Nobel de Qu\u00edmica, i <a href=\"http:\/\/raed.academy\/ca\/academics\/dr-richard-roberts\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><strong>Richard Roberts<\/strong><\/a>, premi Nobel de Medicina. &#8220;La ci\u00e8ncia vista a trav\u00e9s dels ulls de Premis Nobel&#8221; conclour\u00e0 el proper 7 de juny amb la participaci\u00f3 del Nobel de F\u00edsica i tamb\u00e9 membre honorari de la Reial Acad\u00e8mia <a href=\"http:\/\/raed.academy\/ca\/academics\/dr-sheldon-lee-glashow\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><strong>Sheldon Glashow<\/strong><\/a>, qui exposar\u00e0 el treball <strong>&#8220;Descobriments accidentals en la ci\u00e8ncia&#8221;<\/strong>.
