The renowned surgeon Juan Carlos García–Valdecasas Salgado will enter as academician at the Royal European Academy of Doctors-Barcelona 1914 (RAED) during a solemn session to be held in Barcelona on Tuesday, March 15. The recipient will read the speech “The digestive surgery in the 21th century”. Will respond on behalf of the RAED the academician Xabier Añoveros Trias de Bes.

Doctor in Surgery and Medicine, the new academician is a specialist in General and Digestive Surgery, areas in which accumulates more than 20 years of experience. He is Professor of Surgery at the University of Barcelona.
