Jaume Armengou (Lleida, Spain, 1963) obtained his PhD in Civil Engineering from BarcelonaTech (UPC). After finishing his doctoral thesis he set up a start-up company for calculations and design in the civil engineering field. He is the holder of various patents.
He has written a large number of scientific articles and studies. He is the author of more than two hundred construction projects. He has participated in several research projects and has created dozens of computer programs.
In 2003 he sold his start-up company to Prefabricaciones y Contratas (Ciments Molins Group) and was appointed technical director and a member of the board within this company.
In 2007 he joined the Universitat International de Catalunya (UIC Barcelona) as the Vice-Rector of Academic Organisation and Teaching Staff. He has lectured in the following universities: BarcelonaTech (UPC), the University of Navarra, the University of Piura and UIC Barcelona. He has presented dozens of papers, participated in a large number of international conferences and has undertaken research stays at the following universities: Glasgow, Wuhan, Piura, Berkeley and the National University of Singapore / Nanyang Technological University.
Its fields of research focus on project management, decision analysis, and the design and calculation of concrete structures.
He is currently Secretary General at IESE Business School (University of Navarra).
