Dr. Ramon Salas Roig, Tarragona (1945)

Llicenciat en Ciències Geològiques (1977), Professor Agregat de Batxillerat en Ciències Naturals (1980), Professor Ajudant d’Universitat (1982), Doctor en Ciències Geològiques (1987). Premi Ramon Bataller a la millor Tesi Doctoral de Geologia escrita en Català, Institut d’Estudis Catalans (1988). Professor Titular d’Universitat (1988). Professor Emèrit de la Universitat de Barcelona (2015). Acadèmic de número de la Reial Acadèmia Europea de Doctors (2015).

Secretari (1989-1991) i President (1991-1993) del Grupo Español de Estudio del Mesozoico de la Sociedad Geológica de España. Membre del Comitè Espanyol del International Geological Correlation Programme, UNESCO (1994-1998). Investigador Principal de vuit projectes d’investigació de R+D+i del Plan Nacional (1990-2012), per estudiar el NE d’Iberia sobre temes d‘anàlisi de conca [interacció entre la tectònica, canvis del nivell del mar, clima i sedimentació] i d’estructura de l’escorça terrestre. Durant aquesta etapa va liderar un grup de treball que va aglutinar investigadors de les universitats de Saragossa, Complutense i Barcelona. Coordinador del Grup de Recerca Consolidat de Geologia Sedimentària [SGR 1451] (2009-2014). Líder del Grup de Treball d’Iberia i la Mediterrània Occidental del projecte internacional: IGCP 369 on Comparative Evolution of Perithetyan Rift Basins (1994-1998). Ha participat en més de trenta projectes de recerca nacionals i internacionals i de col·laboració amb empreses d’hidrocarburs sobre temes de la seva especialitat, impartint seminaris i cursos de formació (1980-2015).

Ha publicat dos-cents quatre articles (204) i capítols de llibres, la major part en revistes científiques internacionals (SCI). Editor de diversos números monogràfics de revistes científiques internacionals. Membre del Comitè Científic de diversos congressos i reunions internacionals: American Association of Petroleum Geologists (2003, 2015), The International Association of Sedimentologists (2010, 2011).
